Vote Virgilio for WFNSA President

Vote for a voice.

My name is Virgilio Manabat, and I am a 2nd year Western Nursing student running to be your Western-Fanshawe Nursing Student Association (WFNSA) President in the 2019-2020 Academic year. With me, I guarantee leadership that listens and speaks only with your best interests in mind. By voting for me, you vote for your voice to be heard.

My Experience on the WFNSA

I have been on the WFNSA for two years now, both as a Year Representative, acting as a voice and speaking on behalf of students who have concerns or may be struggling with the program. Here's a few examples of what I've done so far:

  • collaborated with professors to create review sessions for difficult Year 1 courses

  • created wellness initiatives for National Nursing Students' Week for the 2021 cohort

  • advocated for mental health discussions and support for year transitioning

  • discussed with professors key issues students have with course/lecture structures to determine solutions going forward

It has been incredibly rewarding to help support my peers and help represent the needs of my cohort over the past two years. Now, I want to bring this experience to the role of president of the WFNSA. Using my knowledge of your concerns and issues, my main objective as president would be focusing your council towards the issues that matter most. As president, I would make it my job to make your voice heard and create a student government that can honestly say that it represents its student body.

The Manabat Platform

The Manabat Platform consists of the three main pillars of my candidacy, and what my goals would be to achieve as not only a president of the WFNSA, but of the WFNSA as a whole.

Networking Event

Listen to you.

Through open office hours and active interactions, I want to get to know you better. I want to listen and hear what your concerns and needs are from your student council and your school to help understand what is working for you, and what isn't.

Public Speaker

Advocate for you.

As a representative of undergraduate student nurses on school councils and larger student governments, I want to be your voice and make your concerns and needs heard loud and clear by everyone. I want to listen to understand, but also to make sure I can properly inform others what you need to succeed and thrive.

Office Building

Make change with you.

I want to do more with your voice than just relay it to others—I want to use dialogue to focus the WFNSA on topics and themes where real, tangible change needs to be seen. What that is will be up to you. But with me, you can be assured that I will fight for what students need and deserve from their program.
